What an inspiring weekend of karate at the Honbu Dojo! On Friday 5th and Saturday 6th September, students gathered in Biggleswade to test for their latest belt ranks. Grading day is always a significant milestone on the martial arts journey, and this weekend proved to be an outstanding showcase of dedication, growth, and hard work.
From our youngest juniors taking their very first steps up the ranks to our senior students being tested on advanced syllabus work, everyone stepped onto the tatami with focus and determination. The standard of karate across both days was exceptional, but what stood out most was the tremendous spirit (seishin) and positive attitude displayed by every single student under examination.

Grading is never just about demonstrating technical proficiency in kihon, kata, or kumite, it is about showing resilience, composure under pressure, and the true character of a karateka. Every student pushed through their nerves, supported their fellow club members, and left everything on the dojo floor.
A huge congratulations to everyone who successfully achieved their new grades. Your progress is a direct reflection of your consistent training and dedication week in, week out. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all the instructors, assistants, and family members whose continued encouragement makes these achievements possible.
Wear your new belts with pride, take a brief moment to celebrate your success, and we look forward to seeing you back in the dojo this week as the next stage of your journey begins.
Oss!
